The Howling Hills

Rolling hills where strange echoes reverberate, believed to be the voices of restless spirits seeking release from an ancient curse.

This is the home region of Valthorn, the spectral wolf entity from whom Maltrixxian gained The Wolf's Bite boon.

Summary of our trials:

A massive spectral wolf named Valthorn appeared in a clearing within the trees and guided us on a series of trials to prove we were worthy of having its power bestowed upon us.

Our first trial was to show an understanding of the spirit, which required us to overcome combat a ghost which would possess one of us. After being turned, the battle was in our favor, and we overcame.

Our next trial was to show us that sacrifice may sometimes be necessary to overcome our hardships. After each us of sacrificed a part of our innate abilities at a sort of altar with pillars surrounding it, we were allowed through to our third trial.

This trial was to show that we had a clear vision and direction in our paths. While we made use of all of our skills and abilities, we did eventually make it to the fourth and final trial, but not without incurring a cost.

The final trial was to show that we were unafraid to seize power. To do so, we defeated Valthorn himself by using every bit of power we could muster to overcome his own power in combat.

After two of us went unconscious, we ultimately overcame the trials, succeeding in his tests. In so doing, Valthorn imparted a great boon to those present, giving them a powerful ability called The Wolf's Bite.

Before saying farewell, Valthorn implored us to seek out the descendants of Aric Stoneclaw, and pass the message to them to "seek the bow".
