SUBJECT: URGENT - Reports of [REDACTED] Regarding Paragon During OPERATION: Last Night at Nevermind
It has come to our attention that Operative Paragon has been [REDACTED] at the [REDACTED] tavern (Figure 1). Persons of interest in this matter include one Da-vid, one Kara, one Treznak, and those known to us as the Dead Roses. It was reported that a spy within the ranks of the Dead Roses is responsible for Paragon's [REDACTED], but we cannot rule out the involvement of anyone else.
Additionally, it was reported that Treznak made mention of Raskovar, also known to us, but our intel says Raskovar is [REDACTED]. We strongly recommend looking into this matter promptly.

Private Notes
- Last Night at Nevermind: A unique roadhouse constructed within the skull of a fallen titan, the tavern called Nevermind serves as the headquarters of the Dead Roses, a notorious gang of cutthroat bandits.
- 200g a piece to take out the Dead Roses.
- We find the skull-shaped tavern called Nevermind just outside of town, a local landmark. Other than the obvious front door. There is a small cave system off to the west in the woods. We can probably find a backdoor in that way. And on the back side of the giant skull, there is a secret door that opens up to the outside. Based on its proximity to the outhouse, it's likely used so they don't have to share with everyone else.
- We decide to take the cave route.
- We don't find any traps, but we notice that the cave walls are covered naturally with what seems to be mud and oil. It seems to have been smeared on the walls. Treznak points out that means this is likely a fire trap, so we turn around and decide to try the secret back door of the skull.
- Treznak is able to unlock the door, but it's blocked on the opposite side. There are bars behind the door, so the door can only come up a little bit. Da-vid assists him however he can.
- He peeks under the door and sees bandits, piles of skulls and a balcony on the other side.
- Treznak tries to carefully open the back door. He's able to figure out the mechanism, but ultimately makes enough noise when he gets it fully open to alert those inside, and warns us that it will make that much noise, so we're ready.
- One of the guys inside compliments Treznak on his ability to pick open the door and invites us inside.
- Treznak begins conversing with the man, saying that his employment with someone named Raskovar has ended thanks to his untimely demise. Treznak walks inside, but puts his hand up telling us to hold position. The guys he'll be with him in a moment, and insists he invite us all inside, so Treznak waves for us to enter.
- A server brings us each an ale while we wait.
- While sitting at the table, we notice one bandit pick up some trash and walk it to the corner where he pulls up a metal grate, dumps it inside, and closes it again.
- The captain says he's impressed with Treznak's abilities as a dexterous investigator. The captain says he requires a demonstration of strength. He motions for everyone in the place to take guard. All the bandits stand up. INITIATIVE!!!
- One of the bandits apparently has it out for Paragon or knows his weak spot as the very first attack of the encounter was at him, and it crit. Luckily Paragon is able to reduce damage taken as a reaction, and was able to reduce it completely.
- Treznak casts a Darkness spell on himself, which Paragon uses as a bit of protection.
- Paragon hears a couple of the bandits pulling Kara out from under the table.
- Paragon assists Kara in escaping the grapple, and she succeeds. Nice!
- During the fight, one of the bandits yells "Are you just going to watch, or are you going to help?!". Just then four more bandits appear peeking over the balconies on either side of the room.
- Treznak gets the final blow on the final bandit remaining. Combat over.
- The boss says "We appreciate your demonstration of strength. We were worried based on your entrance, but this proves you're strong. But for you to truly join, you must beat us in battle. I was going to remove those pawns anyway. But now you must beat the three of us." Da-vid asks if we may rest before our battle to make it more fair. He says he'll let us catch our breath. Short rest it is.
- "Very well, let's begin!" INITIATIVE!!!
- During the encounter, Da-vid goes down hard. Luckily, Kara is able to get him back up with a Healing Word. It might not be a whole lot, but it certainly helps!
- During the encounter, Paragon goes down thanks to a lucky crit at 1hp. Fantastic. Luckily we still have Kara, who is kind enough to get him back up with a Healing Word. Thanks Kara!
- Once again, Paragon goes down. Doesn't seem to be any more healing available. He's down for the count at the moment.
- Da-vid gets the final blow on the bandit captain, and chooses to deal lethal damage, rejecting his offer for us to join us. This causes his lackeys to continue to go after any downed enemies. Because of this, Paragon is attacked while unconscious. The two hits on him kill him.
