after that fite we had to go to thweep to wecover. nuthin hapind duwing that thweep.

Private Notes
- There are eleven rusted and pitted suits of armor, and another one that is still gleaming silver as if it had been polished mere moments ago. Kemurial takes it to use, but doesn't don it just yet, because all the other armors come to life! INITIATIVE!!!
- These suits of armor can grapple, and they're getting SUPER lucky and critting a ton.
- One of the suits of armor successfully gets Kemurial into a grapple.
- Freya casts Wall of Fire such that only the suits of armor are affected. Nice!
- The suits of armor that are grappling swap places with those they're grappling so that we are the ones being affected by Freya's Wall of Fire. Uh oh.
- Kemurial suggests Rory to lead them back across the Wall of Fire. Rory happily obliges.
- Rory finishes off the last of the suits of armor. Combat over.
- We decide to take a long rest after the battle. TNGBU.
- We continue up to the top of the southeast watchtower. Renaldine casts Eyes of the Grave to check for undead, but doesn't detect anything for now.
- We search the rubble for anything interesting. While searching, Renaldine senses something try to take her will from her. She lets us know. Just then, several Specters and a Ghost appear from the rubble. INITIATIVE!!!
- Renaldine finds a rusted iron lockbox. It's so rusted the lock is trivial to break open. Inside is an airtight pewter scroll case embellished with the image of silver dragons. Inside the scroll case is a small key and piece of parchment: the technical historical deed to this keep, signed by King Omund.
- We have now entirely cleared the keep of all threats. Perfect!
- Renaldine shows the deed to Edmond Bedegar at the keep.

After the session, we discuss how to upgrade the keep, whether to a Level 3 Keep, or to a Level 1 Castle. Here's the document we reference:
We decide to upgrade it to a Level 1 Castle!
Renaldine contacts the White Tusk clan of orcs. They're willing to help, but they require that Pinna come to live with them for six months. Renaldine is hesitant, but allows Pinna to make her own mind up about it. There is a shaman that could help her more than a wizard. Renaldine asks for a guarantee that she be returned safely. They can't guarantee anything because "life is full of unknowns", but they will treat her with as much honor and care as possible. Pinna is willing to go, given that she is allowed brief visits back to Castle Rend. Dorokor agrees to this condition. We have their assistance, with the advantage of a flanking maneuver. Nice!
Renaldine also wishes to restore the corrupt statue we found to that of the likeness of Kelemvor.
Renaldine, as the leader of the group, rolls on the Cleric table found on Page 47 of Strongholds & Followers. She rolls a 91, which equates to a Special Ally! She's Neutral Good, so her subsequent roll of a 5 means we recruit a Stone Giant for their assistance. Sweet!
Rory tells those in the castle from the town about the hidden library and they find some scrolls. Pinna is able to learn some cool stuff from it!
Rory trains those willing to take up arms in the upcoming fight. He is unable to teach them the ways of the Path of the Wild Heart, but he is able to teach them enough to grant them some extra abilities. Rory chooses to train them on slashing damage (Page 17 - Slashing Training), granting them an extra 1d6 damage on enemies wearing light armor, natural armor, or no armor.
Rory also tries searching the area for wildlife to assist in the battle in whatever way they can, using his Speak With Animals and Beast Sense abilities. He discovers a path through the woods that will lead a small group of people, undetected, to the battlefield, on the off-chance that we decide to go ahead and affect the battle directly.
Rory also assists by flying, looking for other things of help. He is able to provide the army with a strategic advantage. It'll be a plus 10 strategic advantage for the army.
Rory also attempts to assist in the training, building and moving of various armaments around the castle walls. He is able to, with the Stone Giant's help, use his natural combat instincts and the giant's strength and skill to fix the broken portcullis on the front door of the keep. Awesome!
Renaldine gains the ability to roll on the Concordance Chart, located on Page 31 of Strongholds & Followers.
The castle's Tower provides the ability to research and augment spells. We are able to research one spell. We augment the Shield spell such that for 10 minutes, the target of the Shield spell may use their spellcasting ability modifier on any saving throws. Nice!
Renaldine instructs the Stone Giant to assist in repairing the outer wall of the keep. More fortification never hurts!
After the battle, assuming we are victorious, Renaldine would like the Stone Giant to begin an artistic relief sculpture mural in the outer walls of the keep commemorating the battle and the keep's history.
We are able to recruit a Green Medium Infantry, Seasoned Light Cavalry, Green Medium Infantry, and Gravesford Levies.
